In the last legislature, Portugal was positioned amongst the leaders of the development of renewable energies and the promotion of energy efficiency. The National Energy Strategy 2020 (ENE2020) constitutes a new impulse for the country to pursue the leadership of energy sustainability and complies with the ambitious goals and objectives established in the Government programme.
ENE 2020 defines an agenda for the competitiveness, the growth and energy and financial independence of the Country by way of the commitment to renewable energies and the integrated promotion of energy efficiency, ensuring the safety of the supply and the economic and environmental sustainability of the energy model stipulated.
